Melanogenesis is the natural mechanism for making melanin. We refer to hyperpigmentation when the latter is produced in excessive quantities, which leaves dark spots of varying shape and size. This can occur at certain times of life for multiple reasons: genetic predispositions, hormonal disorders, excessive sun exposure, age, etc.
To prevent and correct these adverse spots that are often aesthetically bothersome, it is necessary to act on the pigmentation circuits at the various stages of melanogenesis.
